Series of 100

In FRIENDS & LOVERS I took Polaroid portraits of ten committed heterosexual couples; ten individual pictures of each man and woman. Then I matched each man up with each of the ten women and vice versa creating a diptych of every possible couple. The piece works as a sort of game for the viewer and an experiment for me. I wanted to see if people just looked "right" with each other. Are the physical things that attract two people to each other apparent to a third person? Do people look like they belong together? Can the viewer figure out which are the "real" couples?
